Best of the Blues Following the success of their previous shows ‘Old Dogs, New Tricks’ and ‘Faux Bonamassa’, the fantastic Alex Voysey Blues Band returns to Lydney this autumn with ‘Best of the Blues’. Whatever you love most – Delta, Chicago, Texas, British or American, you’ll find it all here, performed by four outstanding musicians with breathtaking virtuosity and fun! The show also includes tracks from Alex’s new album AV3 due for release this autumn.
Recently appointed to the board of the UK Blues Federation, Alex is a flag bearer for the new generation of blues artists. This year the band have already enjoyed sold out shows in Manchester and London, supported Mike Zito and Hardwicke Circus, and will be heading to several festivals this summer including a headline slot at the Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival in August.
Alex is joined by bass playing force-of-nature Ben Hands on his iconic Dingwall 6 string, drummer Paul Arthurs who is currently enjoying huge success with the touring Kate Bush show ‘Moments of Pleasure’, and Bristol keys player and musical theatre director, Andy Alpass. Together, they bring diverse musical backgrounds to the table, a huge breadth of experience, and revel in their shared love of blues.
Whatever your passion, look no further for consummate musicianship and a show not to be missed.
Tickets £15 – available from the town hall box office.
