Funhouse Comedy Club, which already runs successful nights at numerous venues across the country, is excited to announce the launch of a brand new comedy night at Lydney Town Hall on Saturday December 3rd.

Funhouse clubs are renowned for having exceptionally friendly audiences and a brilliant atmosphere, which have led to twice winning Best Midlands Comedy Club awards with leading comedy website Chortle. Previous acts to have played its clubs on their road to the top include Sarah Millican, Joe Lycett, James Acaster and Rhod Gilbert, who described the clubs as “among the best anywhere in the world.”

Topping the bill is the hilarious Jonny Awsum, who appeared on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent 2017 and cajoled Ant and Dec into joining his audition and has just supported Jason Manford on his arena tour. Starting out as barman at The Chuckle Club for eight years he then decided to take to the stage. With his guitar and musical parodies he amuses his audiences charming them with his warm and friendly persona, his style of audience participation is second to none. He has presented for Sky Sports, been warm up act for Big Brother and Loose Women and also starred in several adverts including Cravendale, The Post Office, Experian and even Puntigamer beer in Austria.

Opening the night will be comedian and script writer Sean Percival. His brand of comedy steers clear of the surreal and confronts realism in an explosively funny way. His down to earth act is unforgettable with its upfront attitude, no long stories, just gags galore.

Completing the line-up will be James Cook with his sharp tongue and dry sense of humour. Having worked as a presenter on commercial radio stations, he went on air with A-ha and presented Lenny Henry with his ‘Walk of Fame’; experiences which have added to his comedy writing ideas.

Compere for the night is winner of Silver Stand Up Competition 2022, the cheery and chatty Nik Hill.
