Lydney Town Band – 130 Years!

By | 1st August 2022
Date: 22nd October 2022
Time: Doors open 6pm for 6:30 start
Location: Lydney Town Hall

In 2022, Lydney Town Band is marking the 130th anniversary of its establishment as a brass band. Over the course of its history, the band has represented Lydney both nationally and internationally, and competed at the very highest levels of brass banding. In recent times, its focus has expanded to supporting young and aspiring musicians in the local area through the Lydney Training Band, one of Gloucestershire’s most successful youth music groups.

We invite you to join us in celebrating our anniversary at a special concert. Under the baton of Musical Director, Thomas Dunne, the evening will feature a celebration of the Band’s rich history and its place within the Forest of Dean, with the premiere of two new pieces of music written by local composers to mark the occasion. This will be complimented by a programme of music that will excite, inspire and tug at the heart strings. There will also be the chance to hear from Lydney Training Band, under Kevin Ford, who will showcase the next generation of brass banding talents in the Forest of Dean.

Tickets: Adults £8 Under-16 £5 available from the website, or Facebook @LydneyBand, or from Kerry on O75554O469.
